GPX - CHALLENGE between 10km and 36km !

January 11th until March 31st, 2021

Sportevents, organiser of dozens of trailrun and walking events every year, guides you through the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany starting from the "Drielandenpunt" in Vaals and offers you a worthy alternative for the postponed Drielandenpunt Trail Winter.
Each route goes trough a specific country, but you can also choose to connect the three countries!

You will find the right way by following the GPX route. You can run it or walk it.
The "Drielandenpunt" forms the border between the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. With the Vaalserberg on the Dutch part, you are at the tri-border point on the highest point of the Netherlands: 332.5m to be exact.
We offer three different routes through Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany of respectively 10km (356m+), 13km (484m+) and 12km (488m+) for a total of 35km.
Do you prefer to combine the three routes to enjoy longer? We also have a GPX of 36km (1278m+) which contains the three routes !
Each route has its own level of difficulty and technicality. Attention, don't underestimate the technical single tracks !

Make it a fun day with the family! While you're running one (or all) of the loops, the children can have fun on the playground or in the giant labyrinth (consult opening hours and current measures). Pending your loop(s), your family can wait for you in the labyrinth brasserie or enjoy the magnificent view of one of the towers : King Baudouin Tower or the 34m high Wilhelminatoren...

You can run or hike this challenge between January 11th and March 31st, 2021 whenever and with whom you want. If you are competitive, give us your time and we will put you in our 2021 ranking, which will be final on April 1st !

Belgium (10km - 356m+)
- Start & finish: Route des Trois Bornes 99 B, 4581 Plombières
  You can easily provide your own supply at your car.
- Parking : The Drielandenpunt has several parking lots (paid and free)

- No rivercrossings

The Netherlands (12km - 484m+)
- Start & finish: Viergrenzenweg 97, 6291 BM Vaals, Netherlands.
  You can easily provide your own supply at your car.
- Parking : The Drielandenpunt has several parking lots (paid and free)
- Distance and height meters : 12km - 484m+
- No rivercrossings
- Always consult the measures in force in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
Germany (13km - 488m+)
- Start & finish: Dreiländereck, Deutschland.
  You can easily provide your own supply at your car.
- Parking : The Drielandenpunt has several parking lots (paid and free)
- Distance and height meters : 13km - 488m+
- No rivercrossings
- Always consult the measures in force in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
3 borders route (36km - 1278m+)
- Start & finish: Viergrenzenweg 97, 6291 BM Vaals, Netherlands.
- Aid station: Every loop finishes at the same point (start oint). This way you can easily provide your own supply at your car.
- Parking : The Drielandenpunt has several parking lots (paid and free)
- Distance and altimeters : 36km - 1278m+
- No rivercrossings

Don't forget to visit Vaals and some nice spots around/nearby the course.

Brasserie Labyrinth
The Drielandenpunt is the highest point in the Netherlands and forms the border with Belgium and the Netherlands. At the start and finish you will find the cosy and spacious brasserie Labyrinth.

You can go there for a drink or a snack, but also for a nice dinner with the family.

While you're running/hiking, the children can play on one of the playgrounds or find their way around in the huge labyrinth!
Wilhelmina Tower
With a Skywalk at 34m height, the Wilhelmina Tower offers a spectacular view of South Limburg and Germany.

King Baudouin Tower
The King Baudouin Tower is a 50 metre high watchtower,
located on the Belgian part of the Vaalserberg on the Drielandenpunt.

The tower is meant for tourists. At the Vaalserberg, a little to the north, there is also the Wilhelminatoren and the Labyrinth/Maze Drielandenpunt.
Brasserie Lodge
The beautiful and sunny terrace, with views over the Limburg hills, is also perfect for a drink.

Open daily from 10:00 to 21:00, it has a lunch and dinner menu.

Although most of you are just going to enjoy this track, without looking at the watch, we would like to offer a certain competition aspect. Good luck to everyone, no matter how fast you are and don't forget to enjoy during your run or walk !

If you want your time to be shown in the ranking you need to provide us with a link of your activity on Strava, Garmin Connect, Polar Flow or similar.
This can be done by logging into your account and uploading the result via "my registrations". We will then put you in our ranking.
the time includes all breaks, all possible stops will be added.
